I first met Sofia a year or so ago on Momastery’s blog, where she shared that she was feeling lonely after a move to another country. I sent a brief note of encouragement back then, and then didn’t hear much from her until recently, when she posted that they’d had a terrible house fire that destroyed everything. Among the things they’d lost were all her son’s books. She wrote:
“Hi everyone. As some of you know, a fire destroyed everything we owned two weeks ago. My 7 year old is holding on better than expected and I am so grateful for that! I am reaching out to see if anyone could possibly help us with a book for him. He was very distressed about loosing all his beloved books (some of them bought with his own money).”
Sofia has set up a wish list of twenty books on Book Depository, which offers free shipping to Chile. “I am just 20 books away from getting all his favourites!”
Inspired by Glennon Doyle Melton and her Love Flash Mobs I decided to have a Mini-Love Flash Mob for Sofia and Aidan. How cool would it be if we could get all twenty of these for them, and maybe more? I would also love to send them some Christmas cards and notes of encouragement, to let them know that they are not alone in this hard time.
Will you join me? Could you send a book or two, in Spanish or English, through Book Depository? http://www.bookdepository.com/wishlist/GFJ6CL/idiel. Either pick a book on the wishlist or send one of your own favorites. Set the shipping address to

Or could you send a note of encouragement, or include Sofia and her family in your Christmas or holiday card list this year?
And last, but not least, could you share this with your friends?
***Note: The wish list doesn’t seem to update when a book is purchased. If you buy a book off of the wish list, could you post in the comments below so others will know not to buy it?***
