One of the best places in Boston for a walk, and only 1/2 mile from my house! I finally took my camera along (thanks again Mom and Dad!) and tried to explain with photos some of the things I saw. I plan on adding many more to this set, but click here to see what I have so far. Here are a few previews.

Copley farmer’s market

My parents got me my first digital camera ever for last Christmas (I know, but I had a really good film camera that lasted for years), but I have only now gotten around to buying batteries and learning how to use it. I spent the whole day taking pictures and then editing them with iphoto. These are my first attempts to enter the world of digital photography. I’ll post a few here, but follow this link to see the rest.

Another fun haus dinner at 71 ending in random conversation and collective internet searching led to a discussion about long exposure in photographs and Picasso’s light drawing.

Brilliant, the drawing and the photography. The question is, how is Picasso not blurry from movement? Joel had almost the right answer; the full story can be found here.

Correction and gorgeous photos

So it turns out that many of the photographs in that Smashing article in my last post aren’t actual tilt shift, they’re digital imitations. This includes the one by roevin that I featured. Still very neat photos, though. And in investigating my friends Mark and Joel’s allegations (see, Joel, you actually are in this note) I discovered more of roevin’s beautiful photographs. Check them out here.
